Everyone was excited to see the Philippine Azkals play another tournament in the Philippines and this time they once again hosted the 2^nd Peace cup. We all know that the Azkals are the defending champions of the peace cup in 2012 and now in 2013, they are trying to defend their title. Their biggest rival in 2013 is the Chinese Taipei because we all know that they faced off with this team during the 2012 peace cup. It was not an easy task for the Azkals to defeat the Chinese Taipei last year in 2012 but now in 2013, it became a much difficult task because the Chinese Taipei really improved their game. But according to the latest game result, the Team Azkals won over the Chinese Taipei in the 2013 Peace cup. It was a great game indeed but the Philippine Azkals just proved that they are a much more improved team compared to last year’s 2012 Peace cup. I was really amazed during that game and I was cheering for the Azkals all game. After the game, it seemed that my voice lowered down a bit because I was shouting during the entire game.

After beating the Chinese Taipei in the 2013 Peace cup, the Philippine Azkals faced Pakistan in the finals and the game result was in favor of the Azkals. The team just won their latest championship and that’s the 2013 Peace Cup championship. Although they were the defending champions of the peace cup in 2012, but it was not an easy battle for them in order to defend their title. But at least we should be proud of the game result because the Azkals did what they are supposed to do and that’s defending their championship. Of course home court was a major advantage during that game but the Azkals really played their best game of the tournament and fortunately won their latest championship in 2013.

I am looking forward for more football game for the Philippine Azkals and I really appreciate their team because they continue to support and to inspire a lot of kids in the Philippines to love the game of football. We all know that basketball is really the game that people in the Philippines love but with this latest development, Azkals made sure that at least football would be the country’s number 2 sport. With successful game result like this one, for sure the Philippine Azkals would be more successful in their campaign in giving more exposure to football in the country. I know it is not an easy task for them but at the same time, they are also having some game clinics and they are sharing their knowledge in football to all young aspiring athletes in the country and I am proud of them because of that task.

The dagger in his brother’s heart, that’s how I describe it when Jeron Teng beat his brother during their finals showdown in UAAP. Since his brother is a graduating student, there is no payback for him and Jeron Teng successfully proved that he and his team is way better than his brother’s. Yes Jeron Teng is the younger brother of Jeric Teng based on their birthday and one thing about Jeron Teng based on his biography is that he started playing basketball with the help of his brother. Although there has been a rivalry that happened even way before but on his biography, Jeron Teng was not able to beat Jeric in the past but the good thing is that he was able to beat Jeric during the biggest stage of their showdown. At first I really thought that his brother would came out victorious and I was expecting Jeron Teng to lose overhis brother but I was wrong. I am hoping and I believe that he will be able to improve his playing style someday so that he would be more of a tough opponent and for sure in years to come, he could be an MVP in the UAAP. Jeric Teng, the older brother of Jeron Teng who has been playing for the UST growling tigers became quite famous during his collegiate career in the UAAP. This happened because of the 2013 UAAP finals showdown wherein he is up against his younger brother who is playing for the De La Salle Green Archers. It is said to be a sibling rivalry in 2013 when we talk about the UAAP finals but Jeric Teng ended up losing against his younger brother because the De La Salle Green Archers took the championship after Jeric Teng and the UST growling tigers only managed to take game 1 of the finals in 2013. It was indeed a great battle but what is more interesting is the rivalry between 2 brothers. Jeric Teng was really hoping to win his first UAAP finals in 2013 since he is a graduating student. Jeric was confident enough to win the championship after winning the first game of the Finals. But everything happened in a twist as the De La Salle Green archers took 2 games in a row and defeated the UST growling tigers during the UAAP 2013 finals.

When we talk about women, the siblings also showcase some kind of a sibling rivalry because they both have a crush on Jessy Mendiola. It is fun to watch this two brothers because I think in everything that they do, it seemed they really have that sibling rivalry in them. For sure a lot of teams in the PBA already scouted Jeric Teng and all I could say he is a better shooter compared to Jeron Teng. Jeric is realy deadly from the three point country and for sure a lot of PBA teams are keeping an eye of him. I am hoping that he will be drafted in the PBA and even though he was not able to win a championship in UAAP, I know he could be a champion in the PBA because he is a good player.

PBA Career

After having a successful career in UAAP, Jeric Teng is having a hard time adjusting right now in the professional level. Jeric Teng had the spotlight while he was playing in the UAAP but right now in the PBA, he needs to improve more on his game and take it to the whole new level. During the 2013 and 2014 season of the PBA, it is very clear that Jeric Teng is adjusting to the professional level of play. Unlike in the UAAP wherein he could score that easily, in the PBA he is having a hard time because it is the major league and all great defenders are on that league. In my own personal opinion, it would take some time before Jeric Teng would be able to reveal his skill and talent into the league. I think he is taking it one step at a time adjusting into the major league. As a fan of him, I believe on his talent and skill set and it is only up to him to improve it and take it into a whole new level and help his team put in a position to win each and every game. Jeric Teng was drafted in the second round and 12^th overall during the PBA rookie draft during the 2013 season of the PBA. He is currently the backup shooting guard of Rain or Shine right now and he accepted his role coming in to the PBA.

Strength and Conditioning

We all know that Jeric Teng suffered an injury coming in to the PBA draft but right now he has fully recovered from that injury. Jeric Teng doesn’t want that thing to happen ever again because it really dropped his stats and affected his game. He is now focused on his conditioning and increasing his stamina so that he will be able to contribute and help his team in a day to day basis. Jeric Teng is still very young and with his talent, he could be an impact in the PBA. The only thing left for him is to train so hard and improve his game both in the offensive end and defensive end of the floor. Aside from that, he is also focused in his strength and conditioning training in order for him to avoid such injuries that affected his game and his career while he was still playing in the UAAP. He is known as a clutch shooter and a scorer and I believe that with his raw talent, he could become a superstar in the PBA if he will train so hard and improve it. In my own opinion, he will reach the peak of his career in no time because he has the work ethic and the passion in playing the game of basketball.

Passion in Basketball

Jeric Teng learned playing basketball at a very young age together with his brother. He considers his brother as his partner in playing the sport and at the same time his rival because both of them train together while they were still young. Right now, he is playing at the professional level and sooner or later, his brother will follow his footsteps. Aside from that, his family is his source of strength and inspiration in playing the game of basketball. He is really passionate about the sport and when it comes to training, he is a 100 and 10 percent focused in order to improve his game. Jeric Teng is still very young and in my own opinion, he has a bright future in the league. He is a natural born shooter and scorer and the only thing left for him is to improve his defense. Yes defense is very important in the game of basketball simply because offense win games and defense win championships. The ultimate goal of Jeron Teng coming in to the league is to win a PBA championship someday. I believe that the skill set that he is having right now may take him to a PBA finals appearance but in order for him to win and help his team win, he should first train so hard and improve his game. Jeric Teng is lucky to be a part of the Rain or Shine organization which is a championship caliber team. This particlaur team of him was able to become PBA champions in the past and with the same roster that they are having right now, I truly believe that they will be able to capture that championship once again. Their team is filled with passionate players like Jeric Teng and they work together in order to improve on their game.

Sophomore Player

Jeric Teng is on his second year playing in the PBA although he had some tough times during his rookie season but then right now, he is showing some improvements in his game. Aside from that, he is blessed that he is surrounded by great players and great coaches that helps him improve his game on a day to day basis. Aside from that, his family is always there to support him most especially his father who was also a PBA player during his younger years. His brother is also his number one supporter and would love to be in the PBA someday and play with him. As a fan of Jeric Teng, I simply wish him all the best in his career and I am hoping that he will be able to achieve his dream. I know that someday he will reach the peak of his career because he is such a gifted and talented player. His work ethic is also very amazing and I know that years from now, he will become a all-star. As you know the number one sports in the Philippines is basketball and right now in 2013, the latest news update is that football has become the country’s number 2 sport with the help of the Philippine Azkals.

All I can say is that I am very proud of the Philippine Azkals because they really exerted much effort  for the exposure of football in the country. I am hoping that the team will continue to inspire a lot of young kids out there so that they will love the game of football. According to the latest news update, team Azkals is also having some clinics and tutorials in different schools in the country. As a fan, I am very happy to know about that news update for their team and it is one way of showing that they really want football to be more popular in the country. I wish I could be able to attend in their tutorials so that I will know the basics about football. I am a football fan and I’ve watched and played a lot of football games but for me, it is just different to be tutored by team Azkals. Those kids that experienced the clinics in 2013 are very lucky. If they will be Fiba Asia champions then I could say they could inspire more people in the Philippines in playing football. I strongly believe on that team and I am hoping that they will win their first Asian championship if not in 2013 but in the years to come. But as you know, I’m just a fan and the judges knows better than I do, but I was just disappointed of the result because since from day one, I was betting for Laura Lafrate to be the winner that season.

Laura Lafrate is still young and I could see a bright future of her. Actually she is just 22 years old because her birthday is July 29, 1991. I know that you might wonder why I know about her birthday the reason is that I became a fan of her during the cycle 18 of America’s next top model. I really believed back then that Laura Lafrate got what it takes to win the reality TV show. I was really expecting for it but in the end I was just disappointed of the result. Maybe some of the people will doubt the justice system of the Philippines but in my own opinion, I still believe that the justice system will give optimum justice to the people of the Philippines. People like them should be punished and should rot in prison so that nobody else will follow their footsteps. It has always been a problem of the country, I mean when we talk about corrupt government officials. It seemed that nobody could ever solve this problem and this time around, I am hoping that the Philippine justice system would really make its justifiable decision so that those people that are involve will be punished and hopefully the truth will come out someday.
